The
Group CASTELLERS DE LLEIDA,

was
born on 16th March 1995.
Now CASTELLERS DE LLEIDA gathers 450 people from Lleida and the neighbouring villages.

loins
enthusiastic "castellers" who had taken part in other Catalan groups, with
a frequent audience to traditional "casteller" celebrations and with beginners
in the world of "castellers".

On
1st October 1995, CASTELLERS DE LLEIDA
|
had their coming-out in Paeria Square, supported by the CASTELLERS DE CORNELLÀ
and the VAILETS DE GELIDA. On 12th November, the first "diada" of the group
was celebrated - "diada" is a day which is chosen for its special significance
and it generally end the year's work. The CASTELLERS DE MOLLET joined us
on this day.

1996, the group began
|
on
31st March with the CASTELLERS DE VILAFRANCA and we have performed our
castles throughout the province of Lleida and also in Igualada (Barcelona)
with the MOIXIGANGUERS, in Paeria Square with the CASTELLERS DE L'ALBERA
and the TIRALLONGUES DE MANRESA, in Sanaüja Square with the JOVE DELS
XIQUETS DE TARRAGONA, in Agramunt with the XIQUETS DE TERRASSA, in Tremp
with the CASTELLERS DE BARCELONA, and also in Cornellà, Mollet and
Gelida. Finally, the group ended the season in Paeria Square with the CASTELLERS
DE CASTELLDEFELS.
